Introduction to systematic reviews: basic concepts and Cochrane tools

The aim of the workshop is to facilitate participants in understanding how Cochrane reviews are structured and to show how to get involved in their preparation.

The workshop is open to everyone. In our experience, however, the workshop is particularly useful to people who have registered a title with a Cochrane review group (see: Get involved) as we can use draft protocols to provide direct feedback which is often also of general interest. In this case, when registering, please submit a protocol outline of at least 1 A-4 page and send it by e-mail to Cochrane Sweden; please also state the name of the review group.

The course material for this workshop is the Cochrane Handbook for Systematic Reviews of Interventions.

The rationale behind and the main characteristics of a Cochrane protocol will be discussed briefly at the workshop. Cochrane relevant resources such Revman, Covidence and MAGIC will be presented. We have allotted time at the end of the day for a detailed discussion of the individual participants' protocols, if possible.

Deadline for registration is four weeks before the workshop. The course is free of charge.

When: September 27th, 2017. The workshop starts at 9:00 and ends at 16:00.
